About me: My name is Aimee John, I am 20 years old and I absolutely love animals! I am a Veterinary Nurse at a small animal clinic in Melbourne's south eastern suburbs. I have completed my Certificate III in Animal Studies and am currently studying my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. I have been working as a vet nurse for nearly 2 years. I also love dancing, musical theatre and other artistic hobbies. I am a friendly and caring person - to both animals and people, and I have a great work ethic and strive to do my best in all things, including looking after your house and pets.
I have a nearly 13 year old white scruffy mutt who acts many years younger. He has been my ‘test subject’ while I have been studying and learning all about animal health care. He lives at home with my family so does not come with me to house sitting jobs.
My general week consists of working a couple of days, studying another couple of days and I may go out to dinner or to a dance class every now and then too. I like to go out with friends but I am also quite the home-body.
House sitting: I house/pet sit for dogs and cats. I will feed, walk and medicate your animals as well as give them lots of TLC. I will do my best to adapt to their schedule and routines to make the change as easy for them as possible. They can sleep on the bed with me or outside - I do not mind. I am happy to house sit all types of dogs and cats, vaccinated and unvaccinated, young and old, healthy or sick. However, if your pet is unvaccinated or is immunocompromised in any way, please inform me so we can make the best decision for your pet since there is a chance I could be exposed to different things at work.
I am also happy to do any laundry or cleaning around your house. I will always leave your house just as clean (if not cleaner) as when I arrived.
House/pet visits: If you don't need someone to stay at your house but would like someone to check in on your pets I am available to do so too. I can go in to feed and medicate your pets as well as small house care jobs such as putting out bins for collection, bringing in mail etc.
Conditions: I do not have many of these, however if I am to stay in your home I request that it be in a reasonably clean state when I arrive. It does not need to be spotless or considered the perfect beautiful home by any means, but no gross toilets or slimey showers please! I do not mind sleeping in either a single or double bed, as long as there are clean sheets provided. If there is anything extra you wish from me, I am open to discussion.
During the covid pandemic, I take things very seriously. Whenever we are face to face (e.g. during meet and greet) I request you wear your mask, and if you do not follow the rules set in place by our government then I will not consider staying at your house.

This was the first time we have used a petsitter and it couldn't have gone any better. During our meet and greet I could tell that Aimee was going to be a great fit. The dogs instantly loved her and I could see how great she was with animals. During our 10 nights away Aimee kept us updated and sent photos/videos of the dogs.
The house was kept clean and my plants all still alive!
The only reason I would hesitate to recommend Aimee is so that's she isn't booked out when we need her again!
Aimee did a fantastic job looking after our elderly dog. She was really easy to communicate with and went the extra mile to look after our house.
I hold a Certificate III in Animal Studies and am currently studying my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. I am an employed veterinary nurse in a high standard small animal clinic.
