About Aimee
About me: My name is Aimee John, I am 23 years old and I absolutely love animals! I am a Veterinary Nurse with 5 years of experience. I am commencing a new Bachelor course at the Victorian College of the Arts. I also love dancing, musical theatre and other artistic hobbies. I am a friendly and caring person - to both animals and people, and I have a great work ethic and strive to do my best in all things, including looking after your house and pets.
My general week consists of a mixture of study and work, and I may go out to dinner or to a dance class every now and then too. I like to go out with friends but I am also quite the home-body. If your pet requires me home at certain times (i.e. always at home after it gets dark) then please inform me so I can make sure I am available or can adjust my schedule accordingly.
House/pet visits (30 minutes): If you don't need someone to stay at your house but would like someone to check in on your pets I am available to do so too. I can go in to feed and medicate your pets as well as small house care jobs such as putting out bins for collection, bringing in mail etc.
House sitting: I house/pet sit for dogs and cats. I will feed, walk and medicate your animals as well as give them lots of TLC. I will do my best to adapt to their schedule and routines to make the change as easy for them as possible, however I am busy with They can sleep on the bed with me or outside - I do not mind. I am happy to house sit all types of dogs and cats, vaccinated and unvaccinated, young and old, healthy or sick. However, if your pet is unvaccinated or is immunocompromised in any way, please inform me so we can make the best decision for your pet since there is a chance I could be exposed to different things at work.
I generally like to have a friend come over for an afternoon or such to keep me company, mainly if the house sitting is for more than a couple of days. I do this so that I can catch up with friends but also stay at home looking after the pets. If you or your pets are not ok with having anyone else in the house, please make it clear to me. Of course I would only let a responsible person who I know very well into the house - certainly no parties of course!

Aimee came and watched my dog and 2 cats while I was away getting married. She was booked here for 3 nights to house sit and care for the animals.
The positives: Aimee was polite and punctual, the house was tidy and my animals were happy and healthy which is what really matters. She was lovely and kind and showed great patience with my dog Ivy, who can be nervous around new people. She also sent me updates including pictures and photos of my pets.
However, on one of the nights Aimee did not return to the house and instead organised a friend to come to the home. I was not notified of this beforehand and so when I had an alert on my security camera and saw a stranger I had not met before or given permission to enter my home I was very upset, I had provided an emergency contact that could’ve easily come and cared for the animals for the night. Aimee did not return until about 7am which is when I contacted her to find out what had happened. My dog has never spent the night alone in the house before and after the recent loss of our other dog she has never spent much time totally alone. This caused me a lot of anxiety and stress on what should have been a very relaxing holiday.
On the Saturday night I received another alert from my security camera. Another stranger, this time a male who entered my home with Aimee and appeared to have stayed the night, leaving with her in the morning. I was not informed she would be bringing a guest and she didn’t not notify me after the fact either.
Not very impressed to have had 2 strangers in my house when I was not asked prior, I agreed and paid Aimee to stay and look after my home and my animals for 3 nights and in my opinion inviting others into someone else’s home that you’re caring for is not acceptable.
Although my animals were fine as was the house I won’t be using Aimee again.
Aimee, was a great pet sitter to our 4 month old puppy. Aimee was reliable and always answered any questions we had regarding her stay. The house was exactly as we left it, in fact it was better as she had tidied up which was not a requirement 😊
We would not hesitate in recommending Aimee to look after your fur babies.
