In my 34 years of age, I have never stopped loving animals. Growing up my mother was kindergarten teacher and we lived on acreage. As a result I have been exposed to pretty much every animal under the sun, big and small. I love all of them. My university degree was in wildlife science and my subjects included animal physiology, animal handling, welfare and behavior as well as reproduction.
I have been pet-sitting since 2009 and have cared for dogs, cats, goats, a pig, horses, chickens, parrots, guinea pigs, a turtle, a snake and frogs. I have experience with rescue dogs and cats and also both large and small breeds of dog including chihuahuas, bull terriers and maremma sheepdogs to name a few. The cat breeds I have cared for include Abyssinians, Maine Coons and Ragdolls. I have also cared for puppies and elderly dogs on more than one occasion. Also I am extremely confident and experienced in handling and caring for horses or other livestock.
One area of animal care that I am really passionate about is environmental enrichement. This means providing stimuli within the environment or home that encourages an animal to exhibit natural or positive behaviour. An example of this is having an indoor cat and providing scratching surfaces and interactive play to mimic behaviours the cat would exhibit if it were outdoors. My cat is harness trained and her and I love going on walks together. I have also walked cats that I have sitted for. Another good example is providing forage or interactive toys and play for birds and small animals such as guinea pigs.
When an animal's family goes away, they lose that amazing stimulation that human interaction can bring. Being able to come in to an animal's life and discover what they enjoy, learn their personality and provide that enrichment is a very rewarding experience.
As I have a pet of my own I do not offer boarding. However I am always happy to have a conversation about how I can best look after your animals. Their well being is key. When you first contact me I will organise a day to come visit. This is so that I can meet you and your beautiful fur-babies (or feathered or scaly babies), as well as learn your animal's routine, personality and any additional information such as medications etc. I am confident administering most medications.
You can ask me to do pretty much anything animal related, including cleaning out enclosures, giving baths etc.. I am also not afraid to care for exotic or unusual pets, I have handled most forms of life and love them all. It is my ultimate goal for you to return to find your pet happier and healthier than when you left.
Thank you and I am very much looking forward to meeting you and your gorgeous animals!

Beck spent a week after Christmas with our pets and we couldn’t be more satisfied. We had complete peace of mind while we were away and came back to happy pets and a tidy house.
Absolutely wonderful! The care and the time she gave to my fur babies was exceptional! I will be definitely be using her services again as her ability to ease my anxiety when I left was amazing! See you soon !
