Hey there! We’re Leara and Nele, 2 friends from Germany, currently traveling the east coast of Australia together on a gap year after high school. We share a love for animals and both have experience caring for pets, including dogs, cats, horses, and small animals, which has been a big part of our lives.

!!!We are currently travelling down the east coast. We are available for the Townsville (QLD) area until 8.12 and available for Airlie Beach and Cannonvale from 19.12-31.12.

Because we are travellers we can't take care of your pet in our home(we don't have one :)) !!!

Nele has a background in stable work, having grown up around horses and worked at a therapeutic horse stable. This taught her the joy of caring for animals and people alike. She also has house and pet-sitting experience, regularly caring for a family friend’s home and elderly cat, Zora, in Germany. 

Leara, on the other hand, grew up with pets and currently has a dog, Robby, and two ragdoll cats, Simba and Balou. She loves taking Robby on long walks and playing interactive games to keep him mentally engaged. Leara also has experience caring for senior cats, including Zora, and is well-practiced in tasks like giving tablets and managing special dietary needs.

Together, we’re both comfortable with household tasks, animal care, and meeting the specific needs of each pet we look after. Beyond cats and dogs, Leara has experience with small animals like hamsters, rabbits, and mice, while Nele has worked extensively with horses, handling feeding, grooming, and stable maintenance.

Why We Want to House and Pet Sit

House and pet sitting lets us combine our love for animals with our passion for travel. We each enjoy the responsibility of caring for pets and homes, treating them with the same attentiveness we’d give our own. For us, house and pet sitting is more than a job; it’s a chance to make meaningful connections, gain new experiences, and make friends with pets we care for along the way.

Our goal is to be trustworthy and reliable sitters so that pet owners can enjoy their vacations with peace of mind. Our experiences have prepared us to adapt to different pets’ needs, whether they’re playful and energetic or need a more patient, gentle approach. Each new assignment also allows us to explore new neighborhoods, building memories and connections with both people and animals.
