Hi, I'm a big animal lover - 30 years experience. I will unashamedly play with, run around with, and talk to your dogs and engage in stare downs, out sass or play laser tag with your cat.

I am in my early 40s and lost my best friend a couple of years ago after nursing her through cancer. I had her since she was a puppy. She was a gorgeous red cloud kelpie/border collie/fox/muppet .... and she came on many adventures with me - from living aboard a Sea Shepherd ship, to being my co-pilot on a drive from Melbourne to Broome... and I’m loving having dogs in my life again. My mum bred standard poodles and I’ve been around and cared for lots of dogs and cats all my life. I don't believe there are any bad breeds, just owners who could do better. I was living in Melbourne and doing this for around a year in spaces in between work travel, and have moved to Fremantle last year - that is why the reviews might refer to things I don't offer anymore - like doggy day care.

I love both the adoring enthusiasm of dogs and the independence of cats. I’m not a dog or cat person, I'm both and I get on well with both boisterous playful animals, as well as gentle and nervous rescue animals who need to be approached with care. I'm the one, when travelling by myself buys food to make friends with the street animals. In my other work I work for environmental and social change, enjoy social media and am practicising to improve my video/photography skills so you will definitely get little stories and updates from me.

I live by myself in a small flat in Hamilton Hill and mostly work from home - or could sometimes work from your home. I do travel occasionally for work, but that will be clear on the calendar. This means I am often available at late notice in the local area. I am reliable but also able to be flexible. I can take visit your dogs during the day, and happy to walk and sit bigger ones. In terms of age, I'm fine with older dogs that need medication, but prefer puppies that have had some basic training. (just in terms of time)

WALKING I want to walk more! With dog friends. I may also still be able to walk your dog even if the calendar says I am busy (its a little inflexible) so feel free to check in. I can handle decent sized dogs, but not huge ones. Closer to home is best for regular gigs. I live nearby Manning Park and a short drive to the dog beach. (Dog beach adventures may be a little more, as its closer to an hour or more for drop off/dry off/pick up)

HOUSESITTING

I’ve done plenty of house/dog/plant/cat sitting over the years and I'm flexible to come to yours, from several days - weeks, if not too far from my area.

LAST MINUTE FEEDING & DROP IN VISITS

Is quite possible at last minute if its close by and I’m available. Drop ins available within current suburb and nearby. My time is often flexible. The main thing I can't do regularly is early mornings as I sometimes work late nights. I also work from my laptop so can possibly hang out with puppers, and kitties, have a little play, and work for a couple of hours from yours to keep them company.

BOARDING

Unfortunately my complex doesn't allow animals. I am available to come to you.

OTHER INFORMATION

I am fine with giving medication, and have gone through various challenges, (nursed my dog through cancer) with pets so am comfortable with being aware of signs of ill health. I wouldn’t hesitate in getting a dog to a vet as needed and take the responsibility seriously. They are our best friends!
