Hi, I'm Caitlin! I'm a 20-year old university student. Growing up, I owned a wide range of animals, from cats and rats, to fish, chickens and birds. Living with and loving these pets sparked a passion for animals and animal welfare in me from a young age. Since then, I have made sure that I surrounded myself with an array of animals and began my journey to my dream job - being a veterinary technician/nurse. I am currently completing my 3rd year of Bachelor of Veterinary Technology and my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at UQ. So, whilst I definitely possess a love for animals great and small, I also bring with me some (developing) veterinary medical experience and skills. For example, I am comfortable administering medication and can recognise emergency situations should they arise. I am police-checked.
Caring for and spending time with other people's pets allows me to put owners' minds at ease whilst they are away and the joy that both the animal and I get out of it is what motivates me. I have had previous pet-minding and dog walking experience before, including during my time volunteering at animal shelters, such as the RSPCA, and undertaking placement at vet clinics. I currently own two cats. I'm comfortable with a wide variety of animals (including exotics and birds!) and understand every individual animal's needs are different and do my best to cater for these!
My services are personalised to accommodate each individual pet and their needs. When dog walking, I can alter the duration and location (e.g. dog park, neighbourhood or beach) to suit each dog. During daycare, your pet will never be left unattended or unsupervised as I have 3 family members to help care for your little one if need be. I can also walk them or take them for an outing during the day or allow them to play outside in my fenced yard. I have gates that are high and secure. I can visit pets staying at home once or twice a day - whatever you feel comfortable with - and will make time to play or spend extra time with them. I am happy to pick-up and drop-off pets at the beginning and end of a booking within a 15-km radius (approximately). I can provide basic dog/puppy training (e.g. sit, drop, respond to name). I will send regular updates of your little ones to ensure peace of mind whilst away from your pets.
Please note all cats and dogs must be up-to-date with vaccinations and flea and worm treatments (including heartworm for dogs) before doggy daycare or boarding at my house to ensure the safety of other pets. Feel free to contact me with any questions or booking enquiries. I'm always up for pet cuddles and would love to meet and care for your fur-baby!
Caitlin has been a godsend helping me out by walking my dog while I’m temporarily unable to. She is lovely and patient with my slightly wayward puppy - and the fact Josie gets super excited when she sees her coming I think says a lot too! 🙂
Caitlin house sat for me and Rosie. Rosie has been well cared for and the daily photos were appreciated! I had to ask Caitlin to do some chores and she helped me out. I will absolutely be contacting her again when I am away for a weekend in the near future.
