You can't fake love with pets and they know I love having them around.
I don't have my own because I'm always on the move but I have lived with fur-babies and feathered-friends most my life. In exchange for giving them the attention they need, they reward me with love, cuddles and exercise, especially when I'm taking them for walks along the beaches and parks.
I've been officially in-home pet-sitting since 2017 as it suits my nomadic lifestyle of travelling in my campervan for work. Pets and I happily keep each other company so it's a win-win situation. Technically, I work as a Career Coach for unemployed youth.
I'm known as "The Unstuckologist" as my passion is helping others get unstuck in order to move forward in not only their careers, but also their life goals.
I intuitively learn from the Universe to help others gain direction and connection.
To help myself stay connected, I practice daily meditations, yoga, Qi Gong, singing/songwriting, playing guitar around a campfire, painting, walking, exploring, swimming in the surf, discovering great food and wine, being with my children and grandchildren, and living life to the full no matter where it takes me.
Due to my work and creative pursuits, I am unable to give pets under two years the one-on-one time they need. I suit more mature animals who are used to their owners going off to work for up to 8 hours and thriving on all the cuddles we share when I can focus on them in the evenings.
I do not work most Fridays nor on weekends, so those who have pets who need me around can confidently book me for weekends.
Two small to medium sized dogs at once is my limit as I find it difficult to hold onto the bigger more excitable ones, especially when they chase after other animals. Cats are no problem. I can transport pets to the beach, parks, vet, groomers and shops if necessary.
I provide in-home petsitting services on both the Gold Coast and in Brisbane because that is where my face-to-face training work usually is.
I am available to meet face-to-face depending on where I am at the time, or via a Zoom meeting/video chat call.
What I request from you as the Home/Pet Owner, is access to a reliable internet service if its a rural property (otherwise I use my own), use of electricity and water, access to amenities and a well-written emergency action plan in case anything unlikely crops up while you are away. Please include exact times for feeding and exercise and any instructions for administering medicine.
When we meet, please clarify the maximum hours you are comfortable with your pet being on their own, and where you would like me to sleep.
Although I do prefer my own bed in my van (as it is super comfy), I am happy to sleep inside your home and even share the bed with your fur-baby if need be.
Sometimes I get projects that require me to be away from your home for up to 8 hours in a day, so please be sure to enquire about my work schedule if this does not suit your pet.
I am unable to change my work commitments as I pay rent at a permanent caravan site near Brisbane.
I will keep your home in the condition you left it, your pets happy and safe, and enable you to fully enjoy your time away with peace of mind.
I look forward to meeting you and your gorgeous fur-family soon.
As always we feel totally blessed to have found Felicity to look after hour home and pooches when we go away. It allows us to be relaxed knowing that everything is in such wonderful, capable hands. Highly recommend Felicity and Pawshake.
Above and beyond best describes how we feel about Felicity's approach. Felicity really went the extra mile and provided wonderful care of our puppy and our home. We had not used a pet/home sitting service before but after our initial meet and greet we felt completely comfortable about leaving our puppy in Felicity's capable hands. We look forward to seeing her again.
Feeding pets, administering oral medications if required, daily pet cuddles, puppy play and walks around the area, watering plants, keeping the house as clean as you left it, putting the bins out and collecting the mail. I am also trustworthy, honest and reliable, and happy for any background checks to be done.
I know many of you will find it unnecessary for me to have to explain this, but for those who need me to, although I am very much a homebody and some days do not get out at all, most of my training projects require me to work away from home up to 5 days in a week. Pet-sitting is a permanent gig for me so I reserve the right to live a "normal" life from your home. This includes having the freedom to visit with friends and family impromptu, complete shopping errands and attending necessary appointments etc. without taking your furbabies with me. So please understand, as much as I would love to, I cannot be at the house 24 hours every day.
Also it is not a good time to have tradies come in and do renovations or fix things while you have a pet/house-sitter there. This puts the pet/house-sitter in a very awkward position where suddenly they are responsible for supervising work being done and verifying that only authorised tradies enter the house. This is stressful for the sitter, not to mention the upheaval for your dear pets who now require to be tied up or locked in a room so the tradies don't accidentally let them out. Please allow your pets the well-earned holiday they deserve too and book your renos at a time when you are home to supervise.
