Hi I’m Jorden (they/them), pleased to make your acquaintance ;)

Some things about me:

I am 22 years old and I’ve been a huge lover of animals pretty much since birth, and I’ve been surrounded by critters of varying kinds just as long, including birds, rats, fish, guinea pigs and horses as well as the usual cats and dogs. I currently have eight animals of my own. These include two Siberian cats (male and female), two mixed shorthair girls (siblings), two male Cavaliers and one female Staffy, and a Blue-tongue Skink. So I guess you could say it’s a zoo in Jorden’s house. I am passionate about art and writing, nature and its conservation, and I will talk for hours about these things if you let me.

I’ve spent many years volunteering with animals; I volunteered with the Junior Zookeeper program for the Australian National Zoo and Aquarium, where I was privileged to have up close encounters with the amazing wildlife there, my favourites of course being the big cats and the grey nurse shark. I also volunteered at the Kerrabee National Equestrian Centre where I took riding lessons for most of high school, where I helped children with their lessons and cleaned up and fed the horses. I have experience caring for friends and family pets, and having grown up surrounded by animals of all kinds I am confident I have what it takes to handle just about any animal, be it big or small, old or young, furry or scaly. I have experience with dog and cat socialisation, having done so for my own animals.

I am currently between jobs while completeing my study at CIT. The best time to contact me is between 9 am and 5 pm.

I am a tidy and conscientious person, and can guarantee that I will treat your animal/s and house with respect and care. I have a keen interest in animal behaviour and am very knowledgeable about the subject, particularly feline behaviour as I am an avid cat lover. I am very flexible with my services, and will do as much as I can to account for yours and your pets needs. The services I’m offering include:

Dog Walking: $15 per 30-60 minute walk (maximum 3 dogs at a time). ONLY AVAILABLE IN THESE AREAS: Gordon, Banks, Calwell, Bonython, Isabella, Condor.

House visits: I will drop by your place to check your pets food and water, play with them and provide enrichment, and do a general welfare check. At most an hour spent in the house (negotiable)

• 1x visit = $20
• 2x visits = $30 

House Sitting: $50/day I will stay at your home and provide 24 hour care for your pet/s, including feeding, exercise, basic grooming, play and clean up, as well as attend to any chores needed such as vacuuming, taking out the bins, cleaning up the yard etc. I can administer medication if needed, and must be made aware of any medical issues or other specific needs the animal/s have. We can go over this in detail in the meet and greet.

(Please note that due to family obligations, I cannot accept bookings that go for longer than a fortnight)

Unfortunately I cannot offer boarding or daycare services as it would be too stressful for my own animals and my two roommates, as well as highly overwhelming for the guest pet as we do have a full house.

My preferences: While I am confident in my abilities to handle just about any animal, I have some conditions. I will not accept a booking for an animal that has been diagnosed with any contagious diseases or conditions (e.g. cat flu, fleas etc.) as my first priority will always be my own animal's safety. Pets must also be fully vaccinated.

I have experience handling shy, anxious and flighty animals, and know how to approach them calmly and give them the space they need to feel safe. However, I will not care for an animal with extreme aggression or a history of biting or attacking people/other animals. This is for my own safety as well as the animal.

I reserve the right to refuse a booking if the owner is rude or disrespectful. I do my best to be kind and respectful, and I expect the same from you in return.  

I am fine caring for an animal with health issues provided I am given all the information necessary beforehand. This includes any medications, emergency contacts such as the vet, and in the case of behavioural issues any triggers or routines I should know of to make the pet more comfortable. I am open to all ages from kitten/puppy to senior animal.
