I've always had 3 to 5 doggies living with me. And they are family .
You will never hear me say the word "owner", you don't own your family! ! I prefer your child, or calling you the mother or father.
I've done lots of fostering in the past and all live inside with access to outside areas.
My door stays open overnight for the doggies to be able to access the garden at night.
From the pictures you will see the doggie lounge. Couches for all the pooches. My bedroom is also pooch friendly. So basically the whole house is theirs.
At the moment there is only me and my 2 rescues.
My reasons for joining this was we do lots of trips to the beach and river walks. (when the snake season is not around) lots of playtime and fun. Happy to do one on one care, as well as filling the poochmobile and setting off for the day.
These include Brighton doggie beach, as well as Anglesea, Flinders, and safety beach. In the winter / autumn, merri creek, moonee ponds creek, maribinong river and the Yarra river around templestowe.
I have a rav 4 wagon, which I use for the doggies, dark tinted windows and working air Con and heating.
I live close to the Merri Creek which is our usual doggie walk (around 2 hrs plus), in the snake off season. I can keep the doggies on lead, or offlead.
I can build a rapport with pooches very quickly and understand pooch social behavior. I have a good knowledge and understanding of k9 behaviors and pack mentality.
I have 2 calm friendly Rescues whoare amazing around other doggies.
I can adapt activities to your dogs needs, whether lots of physical play/ running, or just a slow social walk. A walk is usually around an hour an half min. if boarding it also includes daily walks and adventures
Bassam was fantastic for Bella. Other dogs were playful and she got lots of exercise. Bassam took her on long walks along the creek and at the beach. When I picked her up I could see that she really like him and she gave him a cuddle before leaving. Fantastic to see. I’d certainly leave her there again. Thanks Bassam.
Baz was just awesome. As soon as I met Baz I felt completely at ease and was ready to give Sophie her first few nights without me. I got photo updates and she went on massive walks with Baz and his other dogs. She was pumped when I picked her up but very at ease and not anxious (like she normally is). She's just been sleeping and relaxing since she's been home and i'd have no hesitation in asking Baz to look after Soph again.
Very social, and motivated for lots of play time. We usually spend around 3 hrs walking, and about 6 hrs at the beach. I've always had many doggies in my care, either as a favor for friends or rescue groups. Worked with anxious and older dogs as well. Have had 4 rescue grey hounds straight from the industry. I'm used to having large doggies, but have had many smaller dogs as well.
