Hey there! My name is Shannon. I am 27 years old and have been apart of Pawshake for a couple of years now. I used to do house sitting but my circumstances have changed and I only care for dogs in my own home now, which I share with housemates who are also very animal friendly and responsible.
I study part-time from home, and love to break my day up with a big walk to the park (or just a walk if the park is not suited to your fur child)
I don't have restrictions on what kind of dog I can look after, all I can do is meet you and your dog; ask you your specifications and if it doesn't suit us both then it's not meant to be I will say so. I prefer honesty, if your dog is anxious, please tell me....if they’re too anxious for me, i will say so :) (just as an example) if you don't like my approach, let's just talk about it so there is no miscommunication. Transparency is key!! If you want to get in touch while they are in my care, or if you want daily updates I can do all of that. I understand that these animals are your family, and I love the energy and nature that you get with animals' company, it's something else! Plus, I understand that they need more than food and a pat once a day!
I love taking pets for a drive or a bush walk / beach day when the weather is nice, but only if you're okay with such and if I have them for a long stay, I can’t commit to such adventures during a one or two day doggy sit as I study.
The picture of myself and the little white maltese cross caviler was my best friend for 18 years before she moved on to the next life. So if you want somebody caring but who can also follow instructions to your liking then give me a buzz, id love to see if I can help! If you have any questions or if you'd like to organise a meet and greet let me know! Have a fab day, and thank you for considering and trusting me! Warmest Wishes, -Shan.
It is clear that Shannon (and - bonus! - her housemates) adores animals.
They were sensitive to my dog's needs. She isn't used to be outside her usual environment so were patient with her.
They listened carefully to my instructions about her habits, and followed them.
They kept me updated with pictures of my dog throughout their stay.
They are kind and welcoming people and I felt comfortable in their home. Shannon invited me to drop in again mid-stay (I was still in Melbourne) to check on my dog and reassure her that I'd keep coming back. I appreciated that and it made for a more comfortable stay for my dog - I'm planning on leaving her for a longer stretch next time.
I wouldn't hesitate to leave my dog with Shannon again and consider her a trustworthy, reliable and caring pet sitter.
Shannon was great to deal with. she came over to meet our fur babies a few weeks before the sitting and was very easy going. we came home after a weekend of pics and updates from Shannon to a clean house and very happy pets. would be happy to use again. Thanks Shannon!
