Firstly,I have personally taken care of my dog, whom I saved from being killed, from the age of 2 months until we painfully had to put him to sleep at almost 16 years old. While at home I also adopted a pair of lovebirds, they live freely in the house being part of the family. I also rescued a dog from the street, he was living with the family for 4 months until I finally found a warm home for him.

Since I was little I have shown a great love and respect for animals, something that my parents have also instilled in me. I consider myself one of those people who prefer to spend more time with animals than talking about trivial things with people.

On the other hand, I have been helping out at the animal sanctuary in my city for 3 years. I have been in charge of many relief tasks. From there I learned a lot about the character or non-verbal signals of dogs, such as signs of aggression. Working face to face with these animals, traumatised by humans, in need of love… made me realise that they were helping me more than I was helping them. Wanting to fill their broken hearts helped me a lot.

I have also walked a neighbor's dog, who was unable to do so because she had a newborn. I offered to help her when the weather prevented her from going out with the baby.

Also, when I was living in Bristol (UK) my neighbour cat decided to move to my house, he found it such a warm and pet lover home that he was spending more time at mine. I never adopted but I always keep the door open so he could jump freely from one house to another one. Tiger was part of my house, even staying overnight.

So now I find myself far from home and alone, I feel that I need that love that only animals can provide. I miss spending time with them, playing with dogs and cats, I miss my parrots too, where the mind becomes silent and only the present is the love they bring.
