My name is Karen, I am 38 years old and I am a qualified veterinary nurse from Belgium, currently studying Laboratory Techniques in Australia.

I have over three years of professional experience as a vet nurse and grew up with both cats and dogs. Caring for animals has always been central to my life, both professionally and personally, which is why pet sitting is something I genuinely enjoy and take very seriously.

In Belgium, I was actively involved in animal welfare. I volunteered for several years with a non-profit organisation called Les Chatons de Chabidou, which rescues and cares for abandoned mother cats and their kittens. I also worked for three years as a professional cat sitter with the company Les Moustaches. My responsibilities included daily home visits (30 or 45 minutes), feeding, litter box cleaning, playtime and cuddles, administering medication when required, and providing daily written updates with photos or videos for owners. I can provide a recommendation letter upon request.

In addition, I have extensive experience fostering newborn and young kittens, providing round-the-clock care until they were old enough to be adopted.

I currently live in Bell Post Hill with my sister and regularly walk her Staffie cross. Although I have worked more extensively with cats, I am equally comfortable with dogs and have cared for both species throughout my veterinary nursing career. I am confident administering medication to cats and dogs, including insulin injections for diabetic cats and basic glucose monitoring.

Availability

I am available on Wednesdays, Fridays and weekends.
