About Me - Hi, I’m Mark, during their stay, your pet will be with me.
We understand that trusting someone else to look after your pet is nerve-wracking. We are a kind and compassionate family of animal lovers and our aim is to give you peace-of-mind and your pet a wonderful, caring, professional home-from-home. During their stay with us, your pet will be loved like a member of the family.
Our Home - We can’t wait to welcome your pet to our lovely low-set home. We live in a quiet street opposite 20 hectares of beautifully maintained parkland. We can pick up and drop off your pet or, alternatively, we’re easy to find and only a few kilometres from the highway.
I work from home and your dog will have the run of our house. Your small animal or bird will have their own safe secure area in our home. Our house is safe and secure and we’ll gladly show you around so you can leave your pet with complete peace of mind. Our outdoor space is limited to s small yard. To overcome this, we use the amazing parkland opposite the house to exercise and toilet your dog. My time is really flexible, so we’ll head to the park regularly and whenever your dog needs to (plus I’m always grateful for a break!).
Our Family - We are a kind and compassionate family of animal lovers. We travel quite frequently and, as a result, have made the difficult decision not to have pets of our own. We have two boys, a ten-year old and a four year old.
Our four year old has a “vet clinic” set up in his bedroom for his soft toys and our ten-year old already knows he wants a career caring for animals. They are compassionate, gentle and engaging boys (although I’m biased!). Whilst we are firm believers that animals enrich a child’s life, our boys will never be alone or unsupervised with your pet. If your pet is unused to children, let’s chat - we’ll both know fairly quickly whether our home is the right one for your pet’s stay.
Your dog - We only look after one dog at a time (or two dogs from the same family/home). If I’m walking your dog, they will always be under my control.
I’m fit and active and will adapt to your dog’s normal exercise routine.
If your dog likes a gentle morning stroll, taking in the local sights and smells, I can do that. If they love nothing more than bounding into the day with a 5km run, I can do that too.
Your cat -
We understand that your independent cat will probably be more comfortable staying your home rather than ours while you’re away. For this reason, we don’t offer cat minding at our home, but we can check in on your cat and sort out their litter, food, water and give them love and attention whilst you’re away.
Your small animal, bird or insect - We have experience keeping zebra finches, mice, guinea pigs, stick insects and mantids. If your small animal is staying with us, they will be looked after in a separate, secure part of the house away from any dog we have staying. We would love to hear from you if you have a small animal or bird that you would like us to mind at our home.
Mark and his lovely family took fantastic care of our dog Ash. From the “meet and greet” until we collected Ash at the end of the booking, everything went seamlessly. Mark sent plenty of updates, which thrilled my kids who were missing their dog. Ash came home happy and we could tell she’d been well looked after. We will definitely send Ash to stay with Mark & his family again.
