For those who know me or are new to my story, I had to say goodbye to Alpha the Great Dane at the end of January 2021. I brought Alpha into my life when she was 9wks old and she had a wonderful 8yrs around the sun with me.
I still have my 8yo rescue cat, Coco, and she is adpating to a new way of life in an apartment when we moved to Ashfield (she was always an outdoor cat).
I have grown up with cats, fish, a chicken and various birds. I have cared for dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs and a turtle. I used to have a Cockatiel named Barney, who I taught how to whistle songs, head bopping dance moves, and he loved to get head pats. He was so much fun to train.
I have experience with giving animals medication whether that be a tablet, topical creams and/or an injection (our family cat was diabetic), and I have experience with dogs who have seizures (my own personal experience with Alpha). I can handle large dogs, or dogs that pull on the lead.
Please note, that I work full-time hours as a senior Executive Assistant for a NFP Charity in the Inner West Sydney area, and I can only do bookings during the week around this area (unless your fur child/ren are ok for longer hours whilst I am at work). I can travel on the weekends.
I have previously worked more than 15yrs for various Federal Government departments in Canberra. I am policed checked, WWCC checked, non-smoker, non-drinker, almost OCD cleaner, learning to adapt to a minimalist lifestyle, and I am very respectful of your home.
As the new way of life of working from home, I can consider daycare and boarding at my place on a case-by-case basis.
Coco can be separated in my apartment with her own room and balcony (what a life) if your pet does not like cats.
For any animals having a staycation at my place, I have a covered north facing balcony with a large outdoor raised bed, fake grass to do their business (I put puppy pads underneath), toys, food bowls, dog door insert and an indoor large bed (washed after each visit). Animals are welcome to sleep on my bed/room if needed. I also have baby gates I can put around my house if needed.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out and we can discuss your requirements in more details.
I hope you will consider me to look after your fur child/ren, as I will also love them just as I would my own.
Kathryn is a true gem... our little senior pooch has some special needs and doesn't always warm to people easily but it was clear he was so comfortable with Kathryn. It was such a relief to find someone that could care for him as well, if not better, than we do.
Kathryn is so impressive!
This was the second time Kathryn watched Stevie for the week - she was absolutely fantastic. Happy to work around our schedules and even cleaned! Great as always 😊👌
I can administer medication from tablets to some needle injections (my parents had a cat that was diabetic) and have experience with seizures (own personal experience with Alpha the Great Dane)
