For those who know me or are new to my story, I had to say goodbye to Alpha (the Great Dane) at the end of January. I brought Alpha into my life when she was 9wks old and she had a wonderful 8yrs around the sun with me.
I still have my 8yo rescue cat, Coco, and she is adpating to a new way of life in an apartment. I am sure she misses all the attention she sought (and those who sought her out) for belly rubs and cuddles in Leichhardt (when saying goodbye to my neighbours, I found out she used to watch tv with an elderly neighbour!). She probably doesn’t miss Alpha stealing her food. My adult daughter looks after her demands whilst I am away pet sitting.
I have grown up with cats, fish, a chicken and various birds. I have cared for dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs and a turtle. I used to have a Cockatiel named Barney, who I taught how to whistle songs, head bopping dance moves, and he loved to get head pats. He was so much fun to train.
I have experience with giving animals medication whether that be a tablet or an injection (our family cat was diabetic), and I have some experience with dogs who have seizures (my own personal experience with Alpha). I can handle large dogs, or dogs that pull on the lead.
Please note, that I work full-time hours as a senior Executive Assistant for a NFP Charity in the Inner West Sydney area, and I can only do bookings during the week around this area (unless your fur child/ren are ok for longer hours whilst I am at work). I can travel on the weekends.
I have previously worked more than 15yrs for various Federal Government departments in Canberra. I am policed checked, WWCC checked, non-smoker, non-drinker, almost OCD cleaner, learning to adapt to a minimalist lifestyle, and I am very respectful of your home.
I may consider other options, not listed, such as "daycare" on a Wednesday only (this is my WFH day), or dog/cat boarding at my place on a case-by-case basis.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out and we can discuss your requirements in more details.
I hope you will consider me to look after your fur child/ren, as I will also love them just as I would my own.
On another note, from 15 April 2021, I will be donating 20% of each booking (up to $30) to various animal rescue charities.
Feel free to suggest an animal rescue charity as part of your booking xx
Kathryn is everything you could hope for in a sitter. She was just great with my cat Dizzy who seemed very happy and relaxed when I got back. Kathryn responded very quickly to my request for a sitter which was such a relief given I was asking for someone very last minute and she was very flexible, communicative and was even able to squeeze in the meet and greet before work one day which I much appreciated. Kathryn is very friendly, clearly loves animals and was respectful of my home. Couldn't ask for more - I would recommend her services to anyone. Thanks Kathryn - I will be in touch soon for next time... :)
Thanks Kathryn for looking after the dogs over Easter. As always they were thrilled to have you looking after them as were we!
I can administer medication from tablets to some needle injections (my parents had a cat that was diabetic) and have experience with seizures (own personal experience with Alpha the Great Dane)
