We recently moved to Cairns after travelling around Australia, and since we couldn’t have pets during our trip (thanks, national park rules!), we starting offering pet sitting to get out pet fix! We're now looking at getting out own dog in the near future but for now we are still excited to spend time with other people’s furry family members.
We both work full-time Monday to Friday, roughly 9–5, and live close to work. While we’re planning to get a dog of our own in the future, for now we’d love the chance to care for yours and give them plenty of attention outside work hours.
Just a quick heads-up: on weekdays we aren’t always able to come home during lunch, so if your dog needs company throughout the day, we may not be the best match. Because of this, we’re mainly focusing on long-weekend pet-sitting at the moment however happy to have dogs throughout the week if they are able to entertain themselves in our big grassy backyard/undercover area.&nbsp;
If you think we’d be a good fit for your pet, feel free to send us a message—we’d love to chat! We have cameras front and back to monitor throughout the day as well.&nbsp;
We enjoy getting out and about while looking after your loved ones, often going to the beach, cafes and the dog park of course. We will always keep you updated with photos and videos of your loved ones and follow their routine so that they are comfortable and happy throughout.&nbsp;

Hey, I'm Gemma. I'm originally from England and I've lived all over Australia for the last 17 years. I've spent most of my time in Perth and now I'm seeing what it's like to live in Cairns :)
I love having the freedom to move around, but it means that I can't keep my own pets, and it's a big thing that I miss. I've been house sitting for about 18 months in total and have house sat the same pets multiple times. I have included some reviews in the photos section.&nbsp;
I love looking after cats and small/medium size dogs; not including bull terriers (great dogs, but they're too powerful for me). I'm happy to house sit/visit or to walk 2 dogs at a time.&nbsp;
At the moment my car is in Perth and it won't be in Cairns for another few months, so I'm happy to house sit anywhere that I can get to. I will get a lift there and back from friends and as long as I can get to the shops and to the park/beach easily enough walking or getting the bus then I'm all good.
I usually work/study from home and apart from exercising and meeting friends for lunch/dinner, I'll usually spend most of my time at home.

Things I love to do:-walk dogs in their usual daily route for how long they are used to, we do not want to disturb their rutine!-administer daily food and medication-groom pets, give them a shower, take them to vet appointments-hang out and play with them as they are used to in their daily life-clean after them
Also, your house and safety is important! I can:-check mail for you, water your plants, anything like that is no problem at all, we are already there!-take all the security measures that you need, your house and your pets are important and we want to give them the best care possible!
