The Top 10 Dog-Friendly Cafes in Brisbane

Jessica 01/11/2016

We Aussies just love our third-wave coffee culture...and as a nation of animal lovers it makes sense that pets and cafes come together (why should Fido miss out on all the brunch-time fun?).

Note that not all cafes welcome pets, so it helps to have an idea of where you can and can't bring your dog before heading out for a latte. These are our top-10 favourites (in no particular order – we love them all!), but if you have a favourite Brisbane dog cafe that we haven't listed just let us know in the comments and we'll add it!

Our Haus Cafe

95 Riding Rd, Hawthorne QLD 4171

Comfort food for hungry humans and their puppies – enjoy delicious all-day breakfasts, lunch and coffee served by lovely staff. Your dog won't feel left out – doggy icecream and puppacinos await!

Todd and Pup

398 Tarragindi Rd, Moorooka QLD 4105

This local gem has plenty of shady, grassy space here for your pooch, water bowls, doggy treats and seriously delicious human food and coffee too!

Nana and Da's

12 Homebush Rd, Kedron QLD 4031

This charming old converted bakehouse has a wonderfully welcoming vibe, a first-class breaky menu (served all day) and top-notch coffee. Water bowls are of course provided for thirsty doggies.

Sassafrass Canteen

88 Latrobe Terrace, Paddington QLD 4064

Bright and inviting, this colourful cottage houses some amazingly tempting comfort food for breakfast and lunch, and the garden courtyard converts to a bar over the weekend – bring your pooch into the courtyard while you enjoy coffee, food, or a cheeky bev.

Rabbit Hole Cafe

5 The Corso, Seven Hills QLD 4170

Casual vibes, great food and coffee, friendly staff, licensed....this cute local cafe ticks a lot of boxes! But most important – your dog can enjoy a puppucino by your side. Bliss!

Bean on Dean

45 Dean St, Toowong QLD 4066

A real favourite in Toowong, this funky cafe does a darn excellent coffee and has a yummy menu with a notable spread of fresh baked goods. Be a like a cool local with your dog out the front (water bowl and tap of course provided!).

Brown Dog Cafe

54 Logan Rd, Woolloongabba QLD 4102

The name says it all really. Bustling, vibrant and fun, this corner cafe serves up deliciously fresh fare and expertly prepared coffee (plus, it converts to a bar on the weekend. Oh joy!). Plenty of spots out the front to soak up the sun with your pup.

Double Shot Espresso

2/125 Oxlade Dr, New Farm QLD 4005

Punchy coffee, delicious food and a laid-back suburban setting make this cool cafe perfect for a weekend brunch. Your pup can tag along too, naturally, and hang out in the shade with fresh water.

Atticus Finch

2/83 Latrobe Terrace, Paddington QLD 4064

This breezy cafe is beautifully presented, as is the fresh food and (seriously good) coffee. Your dog will enjoy meeting new friends, chowing on doggy treats and chilling in a dedicated doggy zone. And good news – it becomes a dog-friendly bar on weekends!

Arthur's Green

22 Fulcher Rd, Red Hill QLD 4059

Set next to a bowling green, this sweet place is quintessentially Queensland (you'll just want to spend the weekend kicking back and bowling in the sunshine). Food is simple and delicious, and the place is conveniently close to parkland to walk off brunch.
