Hello! I am a 32 year old Ph.D. candidate in Biological Anthropology and Political Ecology at the ANU, who has just submitted my thesis and waiting on my final results. I am trained as an ecologist and animal behaviourist. I also run the Southeast Asian Biodiversity Society.
Prior to starting my Ph.D. program in Australia, I worked on primates and mammal behaviour and ecology, was a consultant for the Singapore zoo on primate husbandry and behaviour, and slow lorises, as well as volunteered for the Animal Concerns, Research and Education Society (a Singapore wild animal rescue centre). I was also the top-scoring student for the 'Captive Management and Rehabilitation' module for my MSc. In 2011 I taught field skills in mammal ecology in a workshop that gathered budding wildlife ecologists from all over tropical East Asia, from Indonesia to Southern China.
Having left tropical South-east Asia to pursue further studies in Canberra, I found it impossible to live without furry animal contact. We have now three beautiful ragdolls, and two super-friendly Cavalier King Charles Spaniels who are always up for a spot of catch.
I offer care to your pets both in your home or mine, including house-sitting if you need to be away for a while. I am happy to take small dogs into our homes if they are house-trained, and our cavalier boys will be happy to share a couch with your dog!
As a tropical ecologist by training, I love the natural outdoors, and am happy with both bashing through thick tropical rainforest, being a nature guide or just sitting by a pond to watch birds with my cavaliers.
