Hello!
I'm Katherine, I'm 36 yrs old and I currently work full time at a Doggy Day Care in Richmond. I have recently completed my Cert lll in dog behaviour and training at the National Dog Trainers Federation. I have animal first aid training as well.
Our home in Highett is a 5 minute drive to Sandringham dog beach where I will be taking your best friend(s) for daily outings while I look after them. If your dog is sociable and loves to run free, I'm a regular at the off leash park just down the street and would love to take them along. Exercise will consist of AT LEAST an hour walk each day unless they are elderly or require gentle excersise. They will be living and sleeping inside the house with us unless you request otherwise, in which case we have a sheltered outdoor area with secure fencing. I will provide regular photos and updates via text message while you are away so you can see how they're going.
We have a 2 yr old medium-sized female mixed-breed dog named Wynnie. She will play with your dog if they want to play, but will follow their lead and just relax on the couch if your dog is more into that.
(Note: we have my partner's primary school-aged children staying with us alternate weekends so please let me know if your dog is not child friendly. I still may be able to accommodate you depending on the dates.)

There is no words to describe how amazing Katherine is at being a sitter. Our little Henry is a fairly shy boy, however the updates that Katherine sent us over the weekend showed Henry being the rambunctious, energetic go getter that he shows only to those he truly feels comfortable with i.e. his mum and dad.
Oh and the updates...there were an abundance of photos and texts to reassure us that all was well.
Will definitely be asking Katherine again to look after our little boy.

I come from a dog-mad family! I have years of experience with many different sizes and breeds including, Doberman, Chow Chow, Sheltie, Jack Russell, Kelpie, Labrador, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Staffy, Poodle, Samoyed, Shib Inu, German Shepherd... and too many mixed breeds to list. Those are just some of the animals I have owned and cared for from childhood to present day! I am not an animal care professional (yet) but I take a personal interest in learning about dog behaviour and training. I am currently enrolled to undertake a certified course in dog training in February 2017.
I have a fair understanding of the general genetically-influenced behavioural differences between breeds. I am willing to look after dogs with certain behavioural challanges. Please specify if your dog has any and we can discuss on a case by case basis.
